Treasure

We watched this Jaguar hunt among the Hyacinths all morning and, luckily, with a splash he caught this small Caiman. He immediately took his treasure up the bank, out of sight, for what I assume was his lunch. Our guide said he is named "Mick Jaguar". "Mick Jaguar" is the Jaguar in the BBC video of a Jaguar attacking a large Caiman that went viral on the web.

Looking for Trouble

This is a big male Jaguar named "Mick Jaguar" looking for a younger big male Jaguar named "Maximume". They were having a dispute which involved chasing each other, posturing, and territory marking.. We saw no contact, however.

This young Hyacinth Macaw was recovered from illegal traders that had clipped its wings. Its wings have regrown and it flies around freely, but still hangs around to be fed, They hope to return it to the wild soon.

This is a female Jaguar our guide called "Ruth" getting a drink from the river. We got a better look later which revealed that she has been nursing, but we didn't see the cub or cubs.

The Attack

This is a big male Jaguar named "Mick Jaguar" pouncing on a Caiman which is hidden by the vegetation. It reminded me of a Fox hunting in the snow as after he pounced only his tail was visible. Unfortunately, this Caimen got away.

It's Fish for Dinner

This Giant Otter is actually trying to teach the cubs to hunt by catching fish and eating , rather than sharing.
